| Fantasy, Air and Dance (V.102) A charming arrangement of Irish folk songs for flute, harp, violin, and string orchestra. Fantasy, Air and Dance was written at the request of Simyon Kulkov, a harpist friend of mine. It is a simple premise, weaving together traditional Irish folksongs Danny Boy and the Kerry Dance through the medium of a free arioso theme which passes among the solo instruments. The result lies half way between a traditional orchestra piece and a traditional Irish seshun. |
